Alicia - Principal / Stylist

There’s something about property. Bricks and mortar. It is real. It is tangible. It can imbue a sense of security, both physically and financially. The accomplishment of owning a home. The achievement of investing in property. It means different things to different people. How it makes us feel is important, whether we are buying it or already living in it.

For Alicia, the idea of HOME & JONES Co. was developed on the cusp of a new era beginning for her. After working in the retail and corporate world full time for more than 20 years, and renovating homes on the side, the pull to exercise her creativity on a full time basis was strong.

After several successful house renovations, which she designed and managed from concept to completion (including getting on the tools herself), Alicia yearned to turn her creative hand, and renovating and styling experience, to helping others realise their property goals - whether for sale, or for keeps. “A stylish, well put together home can make all the difference”, she says.

HOME & JONES Co. elevates your space, whatever your budget. Collaborating with you, Alicia invests in understanding your personal tastes, needs and lifestyle to bring together a cohesive scheme you will love for years to come. Alicia’s signature style leans contemporary, with elements from an eclectic mix of styles, creating finished products that feel organically curated. Promoting longevity through wise investments, she keeps the foundation and core furnishings neutral, and blends both high quality and less expensive items. She balances different materials, patterns, shapes, sizes and textures, while ensuring consistency ties everything together. Accent colours enhance an otherwise neutral or monochromatic space, and completing the look, greenery - plants, foliage, flowers - injecting ‘life’ and inspiring a sense of connection with nature.

If a particular style or theme is desired, Alicia’s approach is to lean into the style in a subtle manner rather than going all out with an obvious theme and kitschy items. This has the benefit of making future changes easier and more cost effective.
